2005: Cracking a Nigerian syndicate

After reporting the torture of the African suspect to my commanding officer, Director Booysen, I started to distance myself from Cato Manor operations. I concentrated on what I was doing best, investigating IT stolen equipment through my computer store. On December 2005, I managed to crack one of my biggest cases yet, by tracing a stolen laptop to a major Nigerian syndicate that was stealing and selling stolen electronics via a pawnshop in Durban. My arrest of the suspect and further investigation led to a huge police raid on a specific pawn shop and we recovered 208 stolen items to the value of R682 000.00.

I received a Letter of appreciation from the Provincial Commissioner, H.M. NGIDI, in connection with the above case.
